“Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.” – Oscar de la Renta
Like never before, style is arguably edgy.
Consumers spend millions each year on brand new blue jeans that look as if they’d been dragged behind a train for ten miles. The look of distressed, weathered textures is a hot trend that won’t go away—and we love it.
When we found out that Ashley Furniture was manufacturing a brand new line of home furnishings and accessories aligned with the restore/repurpose/rustic trend, we became obsessed overnight. A first glance at the product catalog had our merchandise and design teams itching to place product in the showrooms, and the very idea of announcing this collection to our consumers was burning a hole in the marketing team’s pocket.
The time has come. Urbanology is here.
Defined as ‘the art of eclectic style’, urbanology is like nothing we’ve ever done before. Raw, rough and industrial textures. Bold, rich and elaborate upholstery. Chairs that intentionally don’t match sofas. Overstated light fixtures and thought-provoking accessories. It’s the urban loft liver’s dream catalog. Just about everything in this collection looks flawless against a brick wall, on a concrete floor or under exposed duct work—or all of the above.
For the big city socialite in all of us, urbanology is all about expressing your own style. It’s the mix and match, pick and mix flexibility that you’d only find at a flea market or after hours of gathering pieces from a dozen different retailers. Whether you’re in a rural ranch, a suburban split-level or a midtown mansion, urbanology has something for you that will make you fall in love with your home all over again.
